We’re excited to share this striking portrait by @artofsarabjitsingh (California), is now part of the Sikh Museum Initiative collection.

The artwork depicts Princess Sophia Duleep Singh—a pioneering Sikh suffragette, daughter of Maharaja Duleep Singh, and a fearless campaigner for women’s rights in Britain. This portrait beautifully highlights a lesser-seen side of her personality: Sophia as a devoted dog lover, often pictured with her cherished pets.

A copy of this portrait was proudly showcased at our Contemporary Sikh Art Exhibition 2024, and the original will feature in future Sikh Museum Initiative events for the public to enjoy.
