International Sikh Research Conference 2023
Sunday 17th September 2023
University of Warwick
****THIS IS A FREE EVENT*****
The International Sikh Research Conference(ISRC) takes place each year in the UK.
The ISRC has been established because there has been a serious neglect of Sikh Studies in the UK. Whilst there are many Sikh scholars studying and researching Sikh Studies, the subject is not highly recognised or represented at a national level in the UK.
They have successfully undertaken five conferences in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 and 2018 by bringing together academics, scholars and researchers and to encourage a spirit of collaboration within international Sikh studies academia.
Some of the talks include:
*Aditi Kumar, University of Warwick-Decolonising Partition of 1947: Amnesia to Collective (Re)remembering
*Gurinder Singh Mann, Sikh Museum Initiative-Revisiting the Sikh Misls
*Sundeep Singh Seehra-University of Birmingham-The Gurus’ Dharamyudh: A 1984 Sikh Leadership Interpretation
*Tavleen Kaur-Fullerton University-Sikhs in Hollywood: Contesting and Resisting a Seat at the Table
*Harjinder Singh Lallie-Univesity of Warwick-The Early Sikh Gramophone Records
The Registration for ISRC 2023 is now live.
