Join us for this community day that brings together art, creativity, reflection and dialogue inspired by Sikh culture and heritage. Spend time in the gallery enjoying a mix of family creative activities, guided meditation sessions, a lecture and Q&A with guest speaker Gurinder Mann, informal pop-up exhibition tours and live music.

Some activities are designed as relaxed drop-in experiences, while others require advance booking, with places also being available on the day. Food and seating will be available, and visitors are welcome to stay for the whole day or dip in and out. Everyone is welcome!

The folloiwng lecture forms part of the exhibition and programme to highlight the rich heritage of the Sikhs.

Join historian Gurinder Mann Singh for an in‑depth exploration of the Sikh Empire and the remarkable legacy of Maharajah Ranjit Singh, one of the most influential leaders in South Asian history.

This talk offers insight into the shared Sikh and British history, examining the political, cultural and military achievements of the Sikh Empire and its place in a wider global context. Drawing on his extensive research, Gurinder Mann Singh will bring to life the story of a powerful, diverse empire and the enduring impact of Sikh values of justice, bravery and identity.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the speaker.
